What:

Join the first Hiking buddies barbecue and picnic at Flaucher (Isar area at Thalkirchen).

This is a social event to socialise with other buddies and enjoy the evening together.

Feel free to come even if you are beginner or don't know any other hiking buddies yet. Don't be shy - Hiking buddies are friendly people.

When: Friday evening, with open end. Alternative date in case of bad weather is one week later (22.7)

Most people would arrive between 18-19:00.

Where:

The meeting is next to the Isar river, where you can take a bath, swim or just keep your drinks cool.

The exact location near Flauchersteg will be posted on that evening, as we need to find an area with enough space for all of us.

It is permitted to grill in that area.

You can reach it with public transport (U3 Thalkirchen, or bus Schäftlarnstraße / Gasteig HP8, or bus Tierpark Alemannenstr.). There are parking lots at Tierpark and near Isarwerk, but it will be difficult to park in the area.

What to bring:

Please bring your own food and drinks.

Recommended: blanket/towel, headlamp, insect repellant, extra layer of clothes (it could become chilly after sunset).

If you forget something, there are supermarkets in walking distance (Penny, Edeka, close at 20:00, but they will be overcrowded).

There's a Google doc for planning what you bring and would share (e.g., grill, coal, bin bags, disposable cutlery/tableware, slack line, food, drinks, etc).

Feel free to bring whatever hiking, camping or swimming gear you want.

Rules:

• clean up your trash - there are dustbins at Flauchersteg. we'll leave the place without a trace
• No smoking
• please only join, if you really want to come

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't want to come. You cannot unjoin the event when it is starting in less than 12 hours. No-shows might be recorded in your profile.
