The hike is&nbsp; 800 meters up and then back down over the course of 4 hours.</p><p open="" sans",="" sans-serif;"="" style="margin-bottom: 20px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; font-variant-numeric: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; line-height: inherit; vertical-align: baseline;">The first hour of the hike up is through a wooded pine forest in a near straight line up. Once you break into the open pastures at about 1200 m you start to get a view of the lake and the mountains surrounding it.&nbsp; From here on it’s a scenic hike up to the peak over the course of the next 1.5 hours or so. From here you’ve basically got a 360-degree view of everything around you. You can see southeast back down to the Wagitalersee lake and the higher mountains around it.&nbsp;</p>

This bus stop comes immediately after the bus has exited a tunnel so make sure to hit the stop button on the bus whilst you’re in the tunnel. If you missed the stop you will have to walk back on the road from the next stop which is also the final stop. Description

This hike will took us to Innerthal and the Wägitalersee Lake, which are about an hour away from Zurich and is a nice spot to get away from the city. The view of the mountains surrounding the lake is gorgeous.

From Innerthal Staumauer, it is about 400 meters across the top of the dam and along the road to the start of the path up to the peak of Gross Aubrig. The hike is 800 meters up and then back down over the course of 4 hours.

The first hour of the hike up is through a wooded pine forest in a near straight line up. Once you break into the open pastures at about 1200 m you start to get a view of the lake and the mountains surrounding it. At 1695 meters up, is the peak of Gross Aubrig. From here you’ve basically got a 360-degree view of everything around you. You can see southeast back down to the Wagitalersee lake and the higher mountains around it.

Good to know

By car: Navigate using Google maps there is a car park

By public transport:

The bus stop is : Innerthal Staumauer. This bus stop comes immediately after the bus has exited a tunnel so make sure to hit the stop button on the bus whilst you’re in the tunnel. If you missed the stop you will have to walk back on the road from the next stop which is also the final stop. It is 15 mins or 1.2 km back.

Thank you so much for organising, this looks like a lot of fun. I actually will have the car on saturday, so would join you all at the car park with the google maps link above at 9am saturday. But same question as above, when would we be finish. ie. is the hike up and down approx 4 hours in total and then one hour more back with the car to Zurich?

Hi Ben, really happy to do this hike with you guys ! i think we will take some time for lunch. So probably around 5 hours in total + 1 hour to drive back to zurich ;)
