Description

26 Summits 2022 hike in canton Ticino: https://26summits.ch/gipfel-und-touren/cardada-cimetta-ti-tessin-locarno-orselina/

We will do the reverse direction of what is suggested in the hiking route.

Option to swim after the hike.

Option to eat in a restaurant after hike / swim.

Departure from Kloten at 06:30 due to the risk of getting stuck at the Gotthard tunnel. Optional pick up for the car pool at Affoltern am Albis.

Cars will be parked at the P+R at Locarno station and we will take bus B312 towards Mergoscia, Posta at 09:49 to reach the starting point of the hike at 10:20. 

Costs with Halbtax: 3.50 CHF.

We will take the cable car (funicular) down from Cardada to Locarno.

Costs with Halbtax: 12 CHF.

We will depart from Locarno back towards Zürich at 20:00 (latest). 

Good to know

Take proper hiking boots and hiking poles!

Take enough water and food for the hike. We will probably go and eat something in Locarno. 

Take swimming clothes in case you want to swim in Lago Maggiore.

Pack sun screen!

Pack something to cover your head! Ticino is warm and the sun will boil.

Make sure you have the proper level of fitness for the hike.
