Description
The plan is to hike Zugspitze via Reintal Valley as per this and take the cable car down. Since it's a long tour, we'll have to start early.
Note : The 42km in the route details is for round trip. We are only going to hike up so it would be around 21km. With that said, it's still a long hike and good fitness is required.

Hi, I would like to join, but this is even doable?
42 km in a single day and reaching Zugspitze before the final lift departs down?
The winter hike in "Route Details" is meant for two days...

Ohh sorry for the confusion. That 42km is round trip distance. We would just hike up which would be around 21km and then take the cable car down.

It is definitely doable as long as the pace is fairly fast. If a bit too slow, there is the option to take the train down and skipping the last section.

Nice! Do you go via train from Munich?
If so, will you take the one which arrives on 00:16 or 01:17?

Oh yup, I am actually coming from Braunschweig and would reach Munich by 21:05. So I don't have a strong preference between these 2 options. 22:32-00:16 looks good. How about you?
