Description
The Drei-Schwestern-Weg with the Fürstensteig can be described as the classic mountain tour par excellence. You will never forget the tour for sure-footed hikers between the secured rock climbs.
The Fürstensteig and the Drei-Schwestern-Steig (opened in 1898) are bold and magnificently designed mountain climbs, which are connected by a beautiful ridge path with great views. The Kuhgrat, the highest point of this varied mountain hike, offers an excellent view of the Rätikon and the Swiss and Vorarlberg mountains. Also unforgettable are the views down to the villages along the Rhine to Lake Constance and the magnificent debris flora.
Technical difficulty:
- The hike has difficulty T4. Please read the blog to understand the requirements for T4 sac scale.
- This hike may even be suitable for experienced or advanced beginners, who have endurance to cover 16 km distance and 1250 m elevation gain.
- We have scrambling sections & ladders but mostly secured with cables.
General information
You Must Have: Helmet( possible rock falls), proper hiking boots with a good grip, headlamp, warm clothes, at least 1,5L of water, food.
You Must Be: Sure-footed, without vertigo, ready to use your hands for scrambling in 4x4 mode :)
Meeting point: 9:00 AM at Skilift Tschagäl – Schaan - Liechtenstein
Route: We start from Skilift Tschagäl in Schaan, walk to Planken, then up to Gafadurahutte for a pit stop, then to Drei Schwestern peak (2051m) we will follow the mountain ridge with spectacular views, after peak Kuhgrat (2122m) we will start our descend to the cars. First time on this mountain, so be ready to improvise on the spot.
Pace: Not too fast - not too slow, extra care on the difficult section, you will be fine if you do sport on a weekly basis.
Transportation: Hopefully we will have enough room in the cars and not to relay on public transportation.

How can I join by public transports?
Case 1: You are the first one joining by public transports
- Click on Carpool (top of the page)
- Click on Add a car (even if it is not actually a car)
- Set the number of seats available to 5, so that others joining by public transports can just use your "fake car" instead of adding another one (it would get too messy on the carpool page).
- In the field Contact details, write "Fake car for Public transports"
- In the field Instructions, write "Join this fake car if you're also going by public transports"
- The other fields aren't relevant.
Case 2: Someone else already joins by public transports
- Join the fake car already created
Important: You need to figure out yourself which train / bus station you need to reach in order to be on time at the above mentioned parking / starting point of the route.

Where / when do we meet?
If you are a driver or joining by public transports, you need to be at the "Parking / Starting point" mentioned at the very top of this page. The time is also there. Plan to arrive 5 minutes earlier, at least.
If you are a passenger in a car, click on the carpool button. The meeting point should have been indicated by the driver on that page, as well as the time. Plan to arrive 5 minutes earlier, at least. In case of questions, reach out to your driver directly.
