General information

Description: Zürich-Leimbach is close to the city center. We will be walking up the hill that is near the station. After walking half an hour, we will reach the Teehütte Fallätsche (Teehüsli), where we will sit 1 hour. This small hut is open on sunny Sundays only, and they offer a few snacks & drinks for a very cheap price in a friendly atmosphere.

At 11 am we will move on to the top (5 minutes from the hut), where there is a BBQ place with a few seats. We will start grilling at around 11h30 am, and go down at around 2 pm.

You can arrive later if you wish.

Meeting point: Katholische Kirche Maria-Hilf https://goo.gl/maps/REvLMAdrpq76VYne7

Starting time: 09h15 precisely.

Weather: Sunny.

Route: Mostly in the woods, some steep parts, but nothing exposed. A good alternative to Uetliberg.

Pace / fitness level: Open to everyone, it's short.

Transportation: Everyone goes to the meeting point on their own (I'm coming by bike).

BBQ - What to bring?

The more food and drinks, the more enjoyable it'll be. Each person has to bring some food & drinks to share. It can be meat, veggies, drinks, or even something you cooked yourself (cake, ...). Do not come empty handed.

Also bring some paper plates and forks / knifes.

We will collect wood around the BBQ spot, there should be enough.

Important rules about Hiking Buddies

  • You have until 12 hours before the start of the event to drop out from the hike.
  • Participants not showing up will get a "NO-SHOW" flag on their profile, which decreases significantly your chances to be accepted on future hikes.
  • The organizer is no professional guide, participants must be responsible for themselves (and that means to do some research about the routes and its potential dangers / tricky sections to know if you have the experience for it).
  • Not a rule, but on your profile, ideally, add a picture of you and select the country you're from (not the one you're living in), to show how international the group is. :)
  • Feel free to read this post on Facebook to know more about how Hiking Buddies works.
