Description

Hello! 

I am looking forward to meeting some people as this will be my first Hiking Buddies event. I have been a hike leader in Paris for 2+ years and since moving to Munich I have done hikes almost every weekend. 

I also hike with my dog, Indie, a 1.5 year old Border Collie that loves people and also loves the mountains. 

Meeting Point 

I plan to take the BRB RB55 from Donnersbergerbrücke at 7:34 AM to Schliersee. I believe this train leaves from Hbf so feel free to also hop on the train from Hbf or other stations and we can meet at Schliersee at 8:26 AM. 

Hike Plan 

This should be a nice 5-6 hour hike, with a plan to stop at the Gindelalm for a beer and some food for lunch. 

Return to Munich 
No rush here, there are trains every 30 mins at '52 and '22, but we can shoot for the 3:22 or 3:52 PM train depending on how long we drink beers at the Alm.   

Good to know
  • The organizer is no professional guide. Participants are responsible for themselves, must do their own research about the route, and must be able to navigate by themselves (in case the group splits for some reason, for example)
  • Hiking includes a certain risk and everybody is responsible for his/her own safety. It is highly recommended to have some kind of insurance in case of an incident
  • Make sure you have your 9 euro ticket

Hi Kartik, the plan is hike about 12-15km from Silchersee to Tegernsee and take a train back from Tegernsee to Munich?

Hi Shivam et al, The hike is 15-16 kms from Schliersee to Tegernsee. Some important notes to remember (also in the description above) - Taking the RB55 train, departs HBF at 7:30 AM and arrives in Schliersee at 8:26 AM. I will be getting on at Donnersbergerbrucke (7:33 AM). Feel free to join me, i will get to the station around 7:25 AM. - Plan to stop at Grindlealm (after 11 km) for lunch/beers feel free to pack your own lunch if you want but we will stop at the alm for a drink - Return to Munich is planned in the early afternoon from Tegernsee, time unknown because its depending on how long we stay at the alm but if you need help in getting to the train station earlier i can send you a link on komoot - IMPORTANT: i will be hiking with my dog (Indie) so if you are scared of dogs or allergic to dogs please consider this fact that there will be a dog off leash
