Description

Scenic one day Karwendelhike in the area of the so-called "Ahornboden" in Tyrol, Austria.

Food & Break: Please bring enough water and food. There are no huts along the way, so we will stop for a lunch after the 5th km. We will do one more break at the summit. 

Hiking boots are mandatory.

Please, check the weather forecast yourself, dress and pack your stuff accordingly (rain jacket, spare clothes, etc).. In case of bad weather conditions (heave rain), we will adjust the route according to the condition of the paths: the descending path will be replaced with the ascending and the transition from West to Main summit will be excluded from the path.

The speed will be adjusted to the slowest speed of participants. 


Schedule:

07:50 Meeting at Munich Hbf - Gl. 32

08:03 Train -> Lenggries (Gl. 32, BRB RB56, Direction Lenggries) - Arrival: 09:11, Gl. 1

09:30 Bus -> Eng Tirol Gasthaus (Bus 9569, Direction Eng Tirol Gasthaus) - Arrival: 10:32

10:45 start hiking

~13:30 - Lunch break

18:35 Bus -> Lenggries ( Bus 9569, Direction ZOB, Bad Tolz) (this is the last bus on Sunday, so we would need to catch it 100%)


Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when it is starting in less than 12 hours. Also please get familiar with the route before hiking.

Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide. Everybody is responsible for her/himself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download a map and bring a cell phone.

By public transport:


Train to Lengries + Bus 9569 Eng/Tyrol to Alpengasthof Eng


The Bayern-ticket is valid to the Bus stop Oswaldhütte so we would need to buy a ticket in the bus for the route from Oswaldhütte to Alpengasthof Eng and back (6.50 EUR each person one way).


Please bring cash to buy a ticket in the bus to Eng Tirol Gasthaus.


Bayern-Ticket: I am planning to come from Nuremberg, so I will buy the ticket there. Four more participants can join the ticket. In case all 6 participants will join, we will take two tickets and split in the groups of 3. 


By car: Navigate using Google maps but be aware it's a Mautstrasse (EUR 4,50)
