No beginners! There are still large snow patches in alpine terrain to conquer
Hoher Ziegspitz (1.864m) is a rather unfrequented peak in the Ammergauer Alps. The reason could be, that the most hikers in the area aim to climb the well known Kramer, the "Hausberg" of Garmisch.
From the top of Hoher Ziegspitz you have the best views to Eibsee, the Bavarian caribbean and Zugspitze, the Top of Germany.
The ascent and descent is the same way across the so called "Gelbes Gewänd", a well laid out beautiful trail which looks different all times of the day. We will stop at hut for a late lunch. However, this comes during descent, so bring enough food/drink for the whole day to avoid starvation/dehydration.
We meet us at 7am latest and catch the train RE 4871 at 7:13 to Untergrainau
Technical difficulty: The hike has difficulty T3, and the last part is steep. Please read the blog to understand the requirements for sac scale T3. Due to snow, the route will feel more exhausting.
