Description

Krottenkopf (2086 m) is a peak in the Estergebirge and the highest mountain in the Bayerische Voralpen. 

Before hike please get familiarised with the following video and hike description. This hike is T3, so please be sure that you have done at least one with this level in the past with the intermediate speed (400 mph)

This is not an easy hike and requires certain stamina and alpine experience!

Good to know

We will meet at Munchen Hbf (Gl. 29) to buy a ticket.

The hike should take ca. 7-8 hours (with an intermediate pace of 400 mph).

The plan is following:

8:03 - 8:50 (RB61) Munchen Hbf -> Murnau
9:00 - 9:30 (SEV) Murnau -> Oberau

9:30 - 17:30 hiking + stop at Weilheimer Hütte

17:57 - 18:27 (SEV) Oberau -> Murnau
18:33 - 19:29 (RE6) Murnau -> Munchen Hbf

It may change depending on the hike & availability of the connections. 

Sticks and grodel may be helpful to keep you safe.

Things to bring:

  • hiking shoes;
  • layers (the weather should be nice, but better to be prepared for a cooler time at the peak);
  • water, food (it is a long and demanding hike, so please be sure to have something extra in the backpack);
  • sunscreen and sunglasses;
  • mask FFP2;
  • cash and/or PayPal account;
  • good energy and stamina.

Optional:

  • hiking poles;
  • grodel;
  • first aid kit.

Note:

  • Unjoining is allowed until 12 hours before the start of the event
  • The organizer is no professional guide. Participants are responsible for themselves, must do their own research about the route, and must be able to navigate by themselves (in case the group splits for some reason, for example)

Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide. Everybody is responsible for themselves. Please make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. Additionally, you could download the map, bring a cell phone and a first aid kit.

Hello Robert, I joined very late. I'm coming from Ingolstadt and will have only 9 minutes to change the train in Munich. When the train is too late I will do something by my own.
