Description
Let's do Hiking Buddies' favourite linear hike, but in reverse! This is a slightly ridgier route, so hopefully there should be good views all day, starting in Tegernsee and ticking off many summits: Pfliegeleck, Rohrkopf, Baumgartenschneid, Gindelalmschneid, Auerberg and Rainer Berg. Finally, in Schliersee I plan to have a bit of a picnic, cooking beside the lake. Please bring food (including fresh bread), and I'll bring a stove and gas. If you also have a stove, please bring it too: I will struggle to cook for fifteen on one stove.
There may be a bit of snow, so please bring suitable footwear. I will have waterproof boots, gaiters and spikes. The pace will be gentle, not sure exactly what speed. Hopefully someone will join me in jumping into Schliersee at the end!

Transport
Meet at the start of platform 34 by 8:50. That is when I will buy the ticket, if you are late then you will have to buy your own. We will travel with a Guten Tag Ticket, which will cost up to €11. If you would like to travel onwards, and so use a Bayern Ticket, let me know ASAP.
- 9:04 BOB to Tegernsee, arriving 10:09.
For the return, the trains are hourly, with a couple of additional trains in the late afternoon, so:
- hourly: 16:59 BOB from Schliersee to Munich, arriving 17:54.
- 16:34/17:34 BOB from Schliersee to Munich, arriving 17:33/18:32.
My kit list (yours should be similar)
- waterproof hiking boots
- gaiters
- spikes/crampons (I am bringing them, please decide for yourself if you need them)
- head torch
- first aid kit
- snacks
- lunch (enough food that does not need cooking to keep you going all day, as I won't cook until the end, and the stove may unexpectedly die)
- more snacks
- water (1.5ℓ)
- walking poles, if you have them
- waterproofs (jacket, trousers, bag cover/liner)
- warmth (fleece)
- dry socks
- gas and stove (please bring if you have one, otherwise bring food for me to cook!)
- woolly hat, gloves
- sunglasses and sun cream
