Hey everyone, to celebrate that they finally fixed the line to Garmish. I would like to do Wank. The weather is supposed to be nice but cold. For easier coordination I will create a WA group tomorrow.
Things to know:
I would meet at HBF at 7:15 at the beginning of the Platforms 27-36. We can catch RB6 leaving from Platform 29. We will get out in Farchant at 08:56 and start from there. At the speed that I have in mind Komoot says it should take 5h to do the trip. Add like 1h for breaks/lunch and we should be down around 15:00. Then we take the first train for München and come back. Please be on time as we will buy the Bayern-Ticket when everyone is there. Bring cash or you can pay via PayPal. From what I can tell there is no snow but there might be mud. Here there is the webcam of the top: https://www.bergfex.com/garmisch-partenkirchen/webcams/c6132/
What to bring:
* Hiking boots * hiking poles if you feel like it * FFP2 mask for the train * Covid certificate in case we stop somewhere * Food/drinks for the way (2l water at least, lunch and snacks) * Proper Clothes - layers are your friends * Sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses and a hat is recommended * lots of fun =)
Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don’t plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event when it is starting in less than 12 hours.
Disclaimer: Hiking is potentially dangerous. Understand and accept the risks involved before participating. I am not a mountain guide and this is not a guided tour. It is highly recommended to have a mountain rescue insurance.
Hi Diego, as my monthly ticket does not cover Zone Mand RB6 passes Pasing, can I join at Pasing and meet you all on the trains? I can Paypal you the ticket cost before the hike if needed.
Hey everyone, looking on the webcam it looks like it snowed today. My guess is that it will melt tomorrow but take that into account. If you have them bring gaiters
Actually now that I think about it we go up the north side, so it will probably not melt. Bring gaiters. if you have them spikes is probably a good idea too. But most likely the snow will be fresh so there shouldn't be any ice. But safe then sorry
Since the list changed a lot, let's say it again. You cannot unjoin the event less 12 hours before it starts. So if you cannot attend please unjoin so the people in the waiting list can join 😊
