Hi hikers,

On the 3rd weekend of November there is a Christmas market on top of Pilatus. It is a very good motivation to climb up :)

Participants limit: 12, not 19!    (The system does not allow to lower the limit)

Note: This hike is NOT for beginners.

If you don't have any hiking experience or you have not hiked for a while, I wouldn't recommend joining.

Hike start: 09.00 Eigenthal, Talboden

Route: Eigenthal - Klimsenhorn - Oberhaupt - Pilatus - Esel - Aplnachstad

How to get there by public transport:

Train (IR 70 to Luzern) departs at 07:10 from HB, platform 6. Meeting point: At the platform, 07:02, first 2nd class car next to the locomotive.

Journey: ZH HB - Luzern- Malters- Eigenthal, Talboden

Meeting point with those, who come by car: Egenthal, Talboden bus station, 08.57

We will have our lunch break at the Christmas market and several mini-breaks on the viewing points.

What is necessary: Hiking boots, optional poles, enough food and water, proper clothes acc. to the weather, optional headlamp, good mood and fitness.

Please be aware that it will be cold on the top, choose your hiking clothes accordingly (several layers, warm clothes, gloves etc). You can check the weather forecast here:
