Lets use the chance this Sunday to go forย aย very scenic circular hiking trail in Kufsteinerland.ย
We start our hike in Kufstein at the train station. Past the Kufstein fortress and across the lower and upper town square, we hike up in the shadow of the Jahnkopf and push out of the forest at the Brentenjoch and now see the Wilder Kaiser here finally. We keep going through the forrest till we reach Gamskogel from where we have a beautiful view of the Kaisertal and the Zahmer Kaiser!
With mixed mountain forest and alpine pastures, we then come along the Brandkogel (1,411m) and turn sharply left into the Bettlersteig.ย Now it's only downhill, through mountain vegetation, also in serpentines till we are at the Kaiserbach near the Anton Karg House in the Kaisertalb with the Maria Hilf chapel.ย The location is also called Hinterbรคrenbad because tradition wants it that brown bears refreshed themselves or looked for food here in the past.
The Kaiserbach measures 11.7 km and flows into the Inn in Kufstein.ย The place in this narrow section of the valley is very impressive because you can look into the rocks of the Wilder Kaiser and the Zahmer Kaiser very close. We cross the Kaiserbach after the chapel and walk along the course of the stream on the Kaisertalweg to the Klaushรผtte.ย Shortly thereafter we turn into the Alter Kaisertalweg, which takes us slightly uphill in serpentines.ย We continue on the Kaisertal path through mixed forest and over alpine meadows to the Pfandlhof. Next we get to the Veitenhof inn and the Zottenkapelle at the Zottenhof.ย Now it's still a good 2km to the station.
If we're in the mood and babck early enough we can have Austrian dinner at Kufstein
Note: please unjoin the event well in Advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when It Is starting in less than 12 hours. Also please get familiar with the route before Hiking.
