Description

We meet at platform 31 in Hauptbahnhof. We buy group ticket. Please be punctual or you will buy your own ticket. You can unjoin latest 12 hours before the event. Anyone not coming and not communicating will get a no show. The route is medium. It could now a few cm but will update on Saturday about it.

A scenic tour that already offers a wonderful view of Reutte, which lies in the wide valley basin, as well as the Lechtal Alps and Tannheimer mountains during the ascent. From the summit and during the ridge hike, there is a fantastic view of the Säuling and the Ammergau Alps with the Zugspitze in the background.
From the car park to the Hotel Restaurant Urisee and along the forest path that begins there we hike in the direction of Dürrenberg Alm. With a wonderful view of the turquoise-colored Urisee, we first hike along the forest path. Soon the trail branches off to the left (signpost Dürrenberg Alpe 23a), which you follow steeply through the forest to the Dürrenberg Alm (1438 m), which is in a beautiful panoramic location on an alpine meadow.
From the Dürrenberg Alpe on mountain path no. 23a continue north-northeast up to the Sattelkopfhütte. Then you traverse to the right below the Unteren- and Oberen Sattelkopf and reach a saddle from which you can see the summit destination for the first time. It is not difficult to continue via the south ridge to the Koflerjoch (1861 m). From here you can see Reutte, the Lech, the Lech Valley, Vils, Pinswang, Säuling and the entire Zugspitze massif, to name just a few.

We hike then down a few meters until we see the signpost to the Zunderkopf. The way to the next summit is really great, you walk through a "pine tunnel" and through a small forest until you reach the small summit. The view from the Zunderkopf (1726m) is also fantastic till Forgensee, especially as the rock drops really vertically. We then start our way down till Bleckenau and Schwangau passing through beautiful view of Neuschwanstein Castle. We reach finally Alpsee to eat and drink something before heading to bus stop.

I will update about conditions but at the moment looks like a sunny day, a bit cold, but sunny. Tomorrow it could snow a few cm. 3 cm according to bergfex in that area at that altitude. So it should not be a issue to complete the tour but we evaluate conditions anyway once there and plan B is ready. No problem. Have a lovely evening.

Good morning buddies. Some info. It is gonna be about 0° when we start hiking and -2° at the peaks to be +6° once in Schwangau probably. There should be snow starting from 1200 m altitude. From a few cm till 10-15 cm fresh snow on the peaks. So dress accordingly. Boots, gaiters and spikes. It is gonna be winter hike as conditions

We gonna probably stop at Schloss Braustuberl close to Alpensee for something warm and a drink at the end of the hike. Other places are closed being November, so please bring food and drinks enough for the route. If all works well I plan to be in Munich at about 19,20. Anyway looking forward a beautiful hike together tomorrow. 🤩

Hey Marco, Hey hiking buddies, Unfortunately I don't feel good and I am fearful I can't join the tour tomorrow. So if someone of the waiting list wants to go at my place. I'm really sorry for that!

Last evening was quite a chaos with lots of last minute changes and unjoin in several hikes in the group as I could notice including this one too. The final result is we will probably be 12 that is fine but it end up like quite a few people would have wanted to join, they were prevented to do it from those who unjoined too late. Because if you unjoin in the early morning the day before is still ok but unjoining in the evening is sometimes very superficial and makes impossivle to other buddies more motivated to join. For sure I understand if someone feels not good or has something else serious happening but otherwise I would discourage to join a hike in first istance if going to hike is just one of the options possible for the weekend or at least would not unjoin thw evening befor the event . If you organize a party at home and a few hours before 5-6 persons unjoin, would you consider it polite and respectful? I dont think so. Have a great Sunday.
