Description

Nice quick and easy hike with the classic Herzogstand-Heimgarten-Ridge.

There's a little bit of snow right now but the weather on Saturday will be partly sunny partly cloudy.

Essential gear:

  • food/drinks for the day
  • warm jacket
  • mobile phone
  • map and gpx
  • gloves and hat
  • suitable shoes/boots
  • money for the driver
  • good mood

Recommended additional gear:

  • first aid kit
  • bivi bag
  • head lamp
  • hiking poles
  • gaiters
  • maybe Grödel


This is not a guided tour but hiking with friends. The usual waivers apply (hiking can be dangerous, you should be responsible for yourself and take care of others, be respectful to the environment).

Good to know

We'll start not too early. We meet on Donnersberger Brücke at 8:30 am (in front of the Litfasssäule just 50m before the bus stop goind south towards Garmisch).

It's not a very long hike. In total it should not take more than 5 hours.

You should have basic experience hiking and be fit enough for acending 500 m/hour.

Check the car pool for seats in my car.
