Because of all warnings and bad weather, I got in touch with the other drivers and we suggest an alternative route and peak: Hochsalwand
Hochsalwand- T3
- Shorter <14 km, peak <1600 m
- Done by hiking buddies late April, I did it myself last year too—the views are nice
- We start at Wendelsteinstraße 56, 83075 Bad Feilnbach, 7.30-8 A.M.
https://www.hiking-buddies.com/routes/events/629/#
weather forecast: 10 degrees Celsius, 20% chances of rain after 2 p.m.
the details about the meeting point are still valid and everyone knows which car they signed up for
Update May 15th
Given the advice and the comments below:
I am in touch with the other 2 drivers and we consider either postponing and/or replacing the route by a T2 at lower altitude with better weather. I will update the event's description. All the participants will be informed once there's a final common decision taken.
_____
Given that the initially planned Kreuzeck - Hoellentalklamm [18.5 Km, 1168 m gain] is closed , I found a replacement in the region:
Schöttelkarspitze
The route and the profile are available here
https://www.hiking-buddies.com/routes/routes_list/332/
https://www.bergtour-online.de/bergtouren/bergwanderungen/schwer/schoettelkarspitze/
Same conditions apply:
Technically not very challenging, rather tricky in terms of length.
The views are supposed to be nice.
Nothing changes in terms of timing.
This route is ranked as T4. What does this mean?
Path/Terrain: Path traces are not always present. Some sections require the use of hands. Grounds are relatively exposed, tricky grass slopes, craggy ground, simple firn fields and snow free glacier sections.
Requirements: Stable trekking shoes. Basic ability to judge grounds and good orientation skills. Alpine experience required. A sudden change in the weather can make a retreat/fallback difficult.

Therefore, you are expected to:
- have the appropriate equipment: boots, poles (if you need any), clothes for any weather (including gloves!);
- spare clothes (if your clothes get wet)
- a charged function phone with a gps tracking option
- enough water and food.
