Description

Beautiful hike from Risstal (Eng Toll Booth) via Steilegg hunting cabin and a small detour to Schönalm (spotting place for mountain wildlife) where we might see some male mountain goats, fighting with each other and courting for the grace of female "Gams".

Once we make it on top of Fleischbank summit, we are going to stop for lunch (bring your own) and enjoy the view. On our way back, we may stop again at Steilegg for a coffee break.

Please note that all huts are closed in winter, so bring hot beverages and food for the day. The hike is steep but feasable, provided you have done hikes in summer. Terrain on the higher grounds is not prone to avalanches and the upper part is forgiving, so this is a good opportunity to get used to hiking in winter without the need to buy snowshoes or ski.

Besides your regular hiking equipment and a warm jacket,  you also need to bring snowchains as we might experience solid snowlayers above 1100 meters.

If you have any questions, feel free to post in in the comments section - see you on saturday!

If you happpen to beon the waiting list, please let me know in the comment section if you can go by car and meet us at Lenggries Train Station. The bus connection from Lenggries to Eng is not active in winter, so carpooling is required.

Hey Tilman, I'm looking forward to join you again on a hike! Is it okay if I come with a friend by car? We can meet you at the Lenggries station at 8:45.

Hi to all, if you consider using public transport, normally people would meet up at Munich Main Station, 15 minutes prior to departure to buy a Bayernticket (Group) which is way cheaper than any individual ticket purchase.

I'm happy to drive people either from munich directly to the trailhead or from the lenggries train station to the trailhead.
