Description

Nice hike to Wallberg and maybe the opportunity to sled down (no guarantees)! 


The train is at 8:03am to Tegernsee then we'll take a bus to the starting point.  Please arrive to München Hbf station Gleis 32 at 7:45am. We'll start the hike around 9:40am. I will buy a Bayern ticket 15 minutes before departure for the present people.  If you are not present when the ticket is purchased, you will need to buy your own. We can have lunch at the hut if it is open - the website says it is but you never know. 


We will be moving at a moderate pace (no speed hiking or running). Probably 350-400 höhen m/hr.

Things to bring:

  • hiking shoes + spikes (highly recommended); poles
  • food and water (at least 1.5 liters)
  • Warm clothes 
  • cash for a train ticket (or transfer money to me via IBAN)
  • good fitness
  • sun glasses + sunscreen
  • DAV membership card (if you own one)

Disclaimer: I am not a guide. Everybody is responsible for themself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download the map, bring a cell phone and a first aid kit for emergencies. Please prepare as if you were hiking alone. Due to limited daylight hours, you must have a headlamp in case of emergency or delays

Hi guys an update: There will be a bit of snow fall and very cold at the top, -8 to -10 so pack your real winter clothes and extra socks/gloves/etc! The sledding is closed but it seems the restaurant will be open from 11-15:00. See you tomorrow!
