Description

Let's go cross-country skiing! The piste is open and there's plenty of fresh snow

Ruhpolding has 150 kilometres of routes for all levels of ability. You can rent equipment (without reservation) or get training right there (make sure to book in advance). I recommend an instructor if you never did it before, langlauf is not difficult nor dangerous, but you will have more fun if you know basic technics.

The entrance to pistes seems to be free, but if not - it's typically no more than 10 euro per day.

If we have different levels or styles (classing vs skating) - it should not be a problem to go with different speeds and still have fun. I do skating, but beginner-medium level.

Take some cash for drinks after - it's a social event after all.

I go by car from Freilassing (Salzburg) - i can pick up to 3 people from Freilassing Hbf

Ok so its close to Traunstein. Any chance you could pick me up from there - I'll likely come by train from Munich in the morning, unless theres someone driving down.

(1) Langlauf is NOT downhill, is it? (2) I take my own ski with me. Any entrance fee for the tract?
