Dear Hikers,

This sunday I am going to hike from Badwiesse to Fockenstein. There would be nice if there some cool people accompany me in this hike. 

Please only join if you think your phyichal fitness is good enough for this hike. We will have definitely snow and you have to be able to hike on snow. 

To have: 

Good mood, sense of humor & flexibility 

Poles, warm cloths, raining jacket, spikes, proper hiking shoes are must, snow shoes beneficial. 

We will meer at 7:40 at Platform 32 then we buy a ticket and take

RB 57 at 8:03 to Gemund and take bus there to bus 9559 to Sollnach Badwiesse. 

As always i will set a whatsapp group on friday.

The facts

Even after snowfall, you can manage well on the Fockenstein with spikes, because the path is always well trodden due to the popularity of the peak. Accordingly, orientation is easy almost throughout the winter. Only on the meadows around the Neuhüttenalm are snow shoes advantageous in fresh snow, but it also goes without. 

The path

Admittedly: The path to the Aueralm (open all year) through the forest drags a bit and can be quite fresh, especially at the beginning, even on sunny days. About one to one and a half hours you are on the road, depending on your speed. In return, the route above the Aueralm is all the more beautiful and easy to walk even for rather inexperienced hikers. From the alpine pasture you can already see the summit of the Fockenstein. After a second, shorter forest section, the route continues uphill across the meadows of the lesser-known Neuhüttenalm until, after a small ridge, gentle serpentines lead up to the summit. Shortly before it gets a bit steeper again and you have to duck under bushes in two places, but soon you've made it and are at the top with a view of Tegernsee.

The highlight

Clearly the moment when you step out of the forest shortly before the Neuhüttenalm in good weather. Then the shady forest paths are a thing of the past and you're heading for the summit in the blazing sun. The refreshment at the Neuhüttenalm or Aueralm will have to wait until the way back.
