Description
Pitztal Mittelberg - Taschachschlucht, Tirol, Austria. 184 km 2h 43 min from Munich by car.
We will be climbing in an ice Klettergarten in top rope. It will be single pitch similar to the Kletterhalle. I will bring 2 pairs of ice tools Petzl Ergonomic and 2 pairs of fully automatic ice crampons Petzl Dart. I will bring my double rope 60 m 2x7.7m.
I will bring 6 short ice screws and 1 long.
We can also practice the creation of abalakovs, ice screws introduction etc.
This event might be very similar to a course and we will not spend money. Since we can do top rope I think safety is manageable.
Good to know
Required skills:
- belaying experience in Kletterhalle in top rope.
Bring at least:
- harness
- helm
- boots for fully automatic crampons.
If you want to buy boots my recomendation is
La Sportiva G5 Evo
The size doesn't correspond exactly to your street shoes. Normally you need 0.5 size more.
Example: my size is 43 on the street but I need 43.5 for La Sportiva boot.

But I think the easy routes will be busy on sunday if we arrive late at 11:00. Do you prefere to meet at 3:00 a.m. in the night to make sure that we get an ice fall?

In the pictures it's me. I was already climbing in that ressort in top rope and leading. I was also in Kandersteg Oeschiwald but there is probably more difficult and that's why it is more famous. I didn't want to make the meeting too dangereous that's why I am sugesting to climb in top rope but we can do an easy one also in leading if you guys want.

Heya, I climb up to WI3 lead and would love to join (or another time). But no way I'm carpooling at 4am haha. Can't even get there in the middle of the night. Lmk if anyone wants to go later.

Yep. We would iike someone add a second car in the car pool so we can drive at different times. To drive early is because I am concerned there will be a lot of people on sunday and the ice falls might be taken. Regarding sleeping bags you migjht try. In that case you guys take an ice fall.It is just behind the parking.. if the event is successful and there is still ice, I will repeat the event.
