The Hike


We start at the Gemeindeverwaltung Reinach AG (near the Reinach AG Bahnhof).
We leave the village by Pfeffikerstrasse and go towards Pfeffikon.
Then we take the Bergstrasse to the Knabenrütihütte.
We go round the hill towards Sterenberg, we pass the observation deck (700 Jahre Rickenbacher).
We pass the sculpture Sagenhafter Stierenberg, and go up the hill to the top Stierenberg (872m).
On the way back, we pass Putschebni (Grillplatz), then the Waldhütte Stierenberg and loop back to Reinach.


General information

I will take pictures during the hike and will publish them in the group on Facebook. If you dont want to appear, please let me know at the start of the hike.

Transportation


Laurence and I will be going by car we can pick-up 4 people, in Berikon-Widen at 8:00am.

Otherwise I have indicated how to come by train from Zurich HB to Reinach AG.



Pace


This is a slow pace hike. Some people will come with dogs.
(Slow Pace means 300/350m ascent per hour ; 1km ascent in 30min) 


Food
Warm drinks in isotherm bottle might be a good idea as it will be around 7 degrees.
Snacks for the road - no lunch as we will be finished by 12.00pm.



Weather


Forecast for now is cloudy…
Temperatures around 7 degrees.
So make sure you take a few layers, as well as gloves and hat.
The path might be muddy at times, you might want to have poles.

Safety notices

YOU MUST HAVE proper hiking boots with a good grip, headlamp, warm clothes, rain protection / sun screen, at least 1,5L of water, and food for snacks along the way.
