Description

This hikes brings us in the region between German and French speaking part of Switzerland, that has been featured in the famous Swiss novel, "The Judge and his Hangman" by Friedrich Dürrenmatt. It starts with relaxing walk through picturesque villages, offers nice views on the lake Biel and St. Peter's island and later when reaching the top point Chasseral, we will also see the more distant Alp peaks, including Mont Blanc.

This hike is not for beginners and you should be able to walk ~200m uphill without taking a break.

Recommended train connection from Zurich HB:

Zurich HB, 8:30 IC 5 (direction Yverdon), Pl. 18 -> Biel/Bienne, 9:50 R 7424 (direction Neuchatel) -> Ligerz 10:04 cablecar to Prêles.

Let's organize the journey via WhatsApp group,

I'll be traveling from Basel and will join the rest at Biel.
