Description

This is a technically easy hike, but you should be fit and keep a good speed during the hike. Going up to the Wendelstein peak from the hut will be optional and if we have time.

We will meet at Ostbahnhof, underground near the DB ticket Machines next to the "DB Reisezentrum". Not in the tunnel to the tracks!

We will take the Meridian train M 79059 (direction Kufstein) leaving at 7:52 until Brannenburg. We'll start hiking from there at 8:39.

On the way back we'll take the BOB from Bayrischzell back to Hauptbahnhof. Trains from Bayrischzell leave at 14:32, 15:32, 16:32, etc. I want to plan for reaching the 15:32 train back.

What to bring:

  • Have a good fitness level
  • Waterproof Hiking boots
  • Flexible hiking clothes, it can get quite warm and sweaty going up. But it can quickly get quite cold on a windy summit.
  • Food and Water for a whole day of hiking (ca. 2 Liter Water recommended) .
  • Charged smartphone (and my number is +49 152 28632131, in case you get lost, or fail to find the group in the morning).
  • Be prepared for a little bit of rain at the end of the hike. But current forecasts only predict a very small amount of rain for Saturday afternoon.

Good to have equipment

  • First aid kit
  • Extra battery / Powerbank for your phone
  • Hiking poles
  • Spare socks (if your feet get wet)
  • DAV membership

Cost per person

  • Guten Tag Ticket: Between 11 and 13 Euros per person (Bring Coins!)
