General information

Weather: Sunny so far (as of Monday).

Route: shouldn't be too technical or too snowy

Pace / fitness level: Requires some hiking experience and a good fitness level.

Transportation: This is a carpool event, see explanations below. I have a car but other drivers are welcome to add theirs. You're free to join by public transports on your own if there is a way to do so, in which case you can add a "fake" car via the carpool button.

Schedule (approximately)

• 08h05: Leaving from Zürich (train people) 
• 08h20: Leaving from Zürich (carpool people) 
• 9h15: We all meet at the parking / starting point of the route
• 13h00: Peak
• 15h00: Parking - see you next time !
• 16h30: Zürich

This is an approximation, many factors can impact it (ice / snow, latecomers, traffic jam...).

By train from Zürich ( total 1h06 min way) 

Train IC to Lugano : leaves at 8:05

Stop at Arthur Goldau at 08:45

At Arthau Goldau Take S31 to Biberbrugg leaves at 08:49

Arrive at 08:59 at Sattel-Aegeri

Walk 10 minutes to Parking Eumatt 1, we ALL meet there

Important rules about Hiking Buddies

• You have until 12 hours before the start of the event to drop out from the hike.
• Participants not showing up will get a "NO-SHOW" flag on their profile, which decreases significantly your chances to be accepted on future hikes.
• The organizer is no professional guide, participants must be responsible for themselves (and that means to do some research about the routes and its potential dangers / tricky sections to know if you have the experience for it).

Carpool - Explanations

Drivers are welcome to add their cars as long as the limit of participants has not been reached.

Instructions for passengers in my car

• My car is Volkswagen  Polo ( 5 seats) but I only take 3 passengers for confort reason. Plate has french number and starts with "BB"...
• No dirty or hiking shoes inside
• Meeting time is indicated in the carpool page (green button at the top). 
• Meeting point Zürich Schwamendingen (depends where I could park my car). The exact meeting point will be given the day before on a comment at the bottom of this page, and via mail.
• Fuel prepayment: Please pay the amount indicated on the carpool page for my car before the hike (to avoid no shows). Can be CHF or EUR (same amount). If no payment is done, I will give your seat to someone else 12 hours before the start of the event (or earlier). 

Passengers in other cars need to refer to the info given by the driver in the Carpool page.

Where / when do we meet?

I've had so many people asking me this question, so here is a little table depending on who you are.

How can I join by public transports?

In case of a carpool event (a carpoool button shows up in that case), if you want to join by public transports, follow these steps:

1. Click on Carpool (at the top of the page)
2. Click on Add a car (even if it is not actually a car)
3. Set the number of seats available to 0. You can also precise that this is you joining by public transports in the field "Instructions" for example.

In case of a non carpool event, just click "Join event".

Important: You need to figure out yourself which station you need to reach (check  the closest one to the meeting point). What matters is to be on the meeting point at the indicated time.
