Update 1-May: DO NOT JOIN. Hut sleeping places limited. 


NOTE: JOINING THIS HIKE MEANS YOU ARE COMMITTING YOURSELF TO BEING THERE! Please do not block places in the list and that you are sure you will go. 


Please note the start time is in Oberstaufen not Munich. 


Cut off date for signing up- 1.May (if open spaces on this day, I’ll reduce the reservation count)


2 day tour in the Allgäu Mountains:

- first day: Steibis (Oberstaufen) to Buchenegger Waterfall to StaufnerHaus, 975m and 10km


- second day: StaufnerHaus to Hochgrat to Balderschwang, 600m up/1200m down and 12km


- overnight hut stay in shared bedroom (mehrbettzimmer) reserved; halbpension not yet reserved; 15€ prepayment required from each buddy to cover the hut cancellation fee in case you drop out last minute due to being sick or something else. I will reimburse the money on arrival in case you go. 


-DAV member bed price 23€; non-members 35€


- Not a beginner hike; required to have minimum 3 T3 hikes done with positive feedback.


- Will hike together as a group with a normal hiking pace, not fast. 

Good to know

- Please message me with your cell phone number so I can create a WhatApp group and get the pre-payment. 


- Please inform yourself regarding individual hut requirements/rules.


- Additional items to bring: DAV card, mummy sack, house shoes, snacks, rain gear, enough cash for travel tickets and hut costs (credit cards not normally accepted)


- Every hiker must have their own means of navigation using map (paper or digital).


- As this is a hike that requires more planning due to the overnight hut stay, please do not select to join the hike unless you are confident you are able to join, and please give notice in far advace in case you must cancel (2 weeks or earlier please).  


Travel:

I will travel directly from Augsburg, but the Munich people can meet beforehand :) and I will join your train later. 


- Saturday 13-May: Take the RE70 train at 07:20 from Munich HBF=>Oberstaufen (tickets can be split for those who do not have the 49eur ticket-can organize in WhatsApp group); I will join the train in Buchloe. Once we reach Oberstaufen, we take bus 95 to Steibis am Giebel.


- Sunday 14-May:  Bus 46 from Balderschwang at 17:05 => Obermaiselstein Bus 44  => train from Fischen to Munich arriving 20:41.


IMPORTANT: I am not a professional guide. Participants are responsible for themselves, must do their own research about the route, and must be able to navigate by themselves (in case the groups split for some reason, for example).

If you have had a NO SHOW in the last year, do not join the hike.

this is because I need to confirm the spots before the start of the 10th day withdrawal period so that I am not left with extra costs. Please contact me as soon as possible to PayPal/transfer me the money, otherwise on May 2 I will have to give up your spot in the hut.
