Let´s go this Saturday for a beautiful hike to East Allgäu A hike that will lead you from a beautiful waterfall to Alpspitz and Edelsberg, two wonderful, small mountains with a view await the hiker and finally the hell gorge!
The adventure trail to the Nesselwang waterfall is a forest trail starting from the parking lot of the Alpspitzbahn. After a few minutes you continue comfortably through the forest, first gently uphill, always accompanied by the wild romantic Schloßbächel.
Gradually the slope increases and the path now leads over wooden walkways and steps. The previously quiet stream is taking shape and now, having become a waterfall, rushes down in many beautiful cascades. Directly next to the waterfall, a steel staircase equipped with metal grid floors leads up the mountain. In between, benches invite you to linger. If you look closely, you can also discover the remains of the Nesselburg ruins. This is the best way to admire the natural spectacle while breathing deeply in the fresh forest air.
In large areas around the two peaks that we hike to, the forest has given way to open meadows. From the mountain station, 1,511 m, we turn right and follow the wide gravel path slightly uphill. Around a curve, and a signpost on the right shows us the ascent to the Alpspitz, 1,575 m. Across a meadow, and a short climb later we stand on the small, rocky hilltop and enjoy the view over the Allgäu foothills of the Alps with the Grüntensee and Nesselwang in the foreground. Back and slightly downhill across the meadow and a few meters on the main path before turning right up to the Edelsberg, 1,630 m. We reach the summit cross, where you don't have to linger for long, because the most beautiful view is a little further. We follow the signpost to the Fichtelhütte and after a few minutes we reach a sun-drenched meadow on the east side of the mountain with a magnificent panorama over the Ostallgäu. The individual villages of Pfronten spread out in the valley below, framed by Breitenberg and Falkenstein; Weißensee, Hopfensee and Forggensee form blue spots and in the distance the Zugspitze massif can be seen. We turn then towards Kappeler Alp. From here we go down to valley crossing the Hell Gorge. The hiking trail leads past waterfalls to the "Devil's Kitchen" and finally down to valley where we can reach our final goal.
You can at latest unjoin 12 hours before the event. Try to join the event only if you are really motivated unless you are not feeling good or serious issue comes. Unjoin in the evening makes it impossible to any other buddie would have wanted to join since it would be too late and creates chaos in the waiting list and in the event. Thanks for understanding
Please be punctual or you will buy your own ticket if you get to the station after 7,40.
