Let’s go and run a marathon! Starting from Pinegg im Brandenberger Tal, we’ll make our way upstream to Valepp and Spitzingsee, then downhill to Schliersee, followed by a couple of laps of the lake to reach 42.2 km.
We should stick together, running gently (or walking any steep ascents).
Kit list
This is what I am bringing; your kit list should be similar.
Transport
Note that you are responsible for organising your own tickets. The VVT ticket from Kufstein is likely to cost €13,40, and the German section is covered by a Deutschlandticket or Guten Tag Ticket. I am travelling from Ostbahnhof.
Outbound: München Hbf 06:41 / München Ost 06:50 –(RB 54)– 07:58 Kufstein 08:12 –(S 4)– 08:42 Brixlegg 08:49 –(Bus 4070)– 09:24 Brandenberg Pinegg
Return: any of the roughly half-hourly trains from Schliersee to Munich.
If anyone is struggling, it is possible for them to finish early, at Spitzingsee (26 km), Fischhausen-Neuhaus (30 km), or at regular intervals after this point.
Weather
It could be wet, bring waterproofs!
Safety
Please observe all laws and guidelines for preventing the spread of coronavirus. I have created this event in order to find other people keen on walking in the mountains, but I am not a guide, and each member is responsible for their own safety. You are expected to familiarise yourself with the route before registering, and only register once you are happy that you can complete it.
