Description

Let’s go and run a marathon! Starting from Pinegg im Brandenberger Tal, we’ll make our way upstream to Valepp and Spitzingsee, then downhill to Schliersee, followed by a couple of laps of the lake to reach 42.2 km.

We should stick together, running gently (or walking any steep ascents).

It could be wet, bring waterproofs!

Safety

Please observe all laws and guidelines for preventing the spread of coronavirus. I have created this event in order to find other people keen on walking in the mountains, but I am not a guide, and each member is responsible for their own safety. You are expected to familiarise yourself with the route before registering, and only register once you are happy that you can complete it.

I did the route in the opposite direction, starting at Fischhausen-Neuhaus and finishing in Brixlegg. This took 4h49 for 42.4 km, without doing any excess laps. The path itself is pretty narrow south of Valepp, and there are a couple of sections of narrow gorge walkways further south. Definitely a route to recommend!
