Hey everyone!
I am excited to announce a fantastic hike to kick off the season with a light and short Via Ferrata (category A) at Imst, specifically at the Vordere Platteinspitze. This is perfect for those who are just starting with Via Ferrata or looking for a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
Here's the plan:
Meeting Time: 8:00 AM
We'll start by driving to Hoch-Imst (about 2:30 hours), and then take the gondola at Untermarkter Alm (1050 m to 1491 m) to begin our hike. The trek offers beautiful geological scenery, taking us through an interesting forest of wild towers and jagged brownish-red conglomerate rock formations. The climb to the summit is easy and not exposed, making it suitable even for beginners. The hike takes us from Untermarkter Alm to Vordere Platteinspitze (about 3 hours), with an elevation gain of 1070 meters.
The entire tour should take around 5:30 hours, including the ascent and descent. On our way back, we'll add some extra excitement by taking the longest Alpine roller coaster in the world down to our car! Please note that the roller coaster closes at 17:00, so we'll be starting our day at 8:00 AM to ensure we have enough time to enjoy it.
