Description

Let's go hiking on medium-sunny Sunday! This hike takes us on the ridge between Grenchen and Solothurn, which offers views to the Aare valley and into the Jura hills. The terrain is not difficult, but the elevation difference on the route will be about 1000 meters.

The meeting point is 9:33, Grenchen Süd train station.

Have enough beverages and food, most likely there is nothing available to buy in the hills.

Public transport from Zurich: 8:30 IC5 (Pl. 18, direction Lausanne) -> Grenchen Süd

The hike ends in Oberdorf. From there, trains to Zurich run every ~30 mins. if you plan to come by car, park in Solothurn and join the IC 5 from there at 9:26.

im coming from Bern and will be arriving at 09:25. Please let me know if that’s fine, otherwise I’ll take an earlier train which allows me to arrive 30min earlier.

I've changed the meeting time to 9:33 - there is a direct train from Zurich to Grenchen Süd at 8:30, so better to take this one. I'll be myself travelling from Basel and will join you on the train at Olten.
