5) Please be punctual. Train leaves at 6,32, max at 6,25 we will be sitting on the train.

This scenically quiet and impressive tour moves far away from the mainstream. The path through the Raintal is an experience itself having always a view of the wintry north faces of the Gimpel, Gehrenspitze and Kellenspitze. Shortly before the Musauer Alm, the view of the rugged north face of the Tannheim Alps opens up. Queen Marie climbed two of these peaks: the Gehrenspitze (2,163 m) and the Kellenspitze (or Köllespitze, 2,238 m), which originally had to shed the name "Metzenarsch" that was used to date but not very elegant for this royal summit tour. Although she was a Prussian by birth, Queen Marie of Bavaria, the mother of Ludwig II, was a keen alpinist indeed.

Later you reach the sunnier Sabachtal and the Sabachhütte (1563m) and then the Gehrenjoch (1858m).  From the yoke to the right over the initially wide slope that later then  becomes steeper near the ridge towards the summit (2009m). Schneid means blade and that is what this mountain looks like when viewed from east or west. It is a sharp east - west running ridge with a steep north and south face; the south ridge being not very prominent. To the east, west and south there are three cols: Seebachjoch to the west, Gehrenjoch to the north and Hochjoch to the south. These cols are the starting points for three short trails to the summit.

In summer the meadows of Schneid and its surroundings are full of splendid wildflowers.

From the summit there is a beautiful view of the Gehrenspitze, the Thaneller and the Lechtal mountains, the Reuttener Talessel till Zugspitz Arena.

After enjoying this view we head to valley. We make a rewarding stop at Gehrenalpe before going back to Reutte.

I am not a professional guide. hiking ca be risky. Everyone is responsble for him/herself and must familiarize with the route and its requirements.

I won't be at the train station in Munich but will get on the train in Reutte. If we don't see each other on the train, I am sure I will spot the group in Musau and join you :)
