According to the hut website, the hut is open and is accessible from Mittelberg, even though the part near the hut still has quite some snow. We will hike to the hut, and based on the conditions and group discretion we may try some nearby peak, however, this part is optional.

Public transport: We will take ALX84134 departing at 7:20 am, which will arrive Oberstdorf at 9:39 am. From Obsertdorf we take bus Line 1 departing at 9:50 am, and finally reach Alpenrose at 10:24 am. This is the start and endpoint of our hike. Note that the bus ticket is not included in Bayern or Servus ticket.

Departure time of return connection: 17:00 (3h), 17:40 (3h), 18:00 (3h40m)

Technical difficulty: The hike has difficulty T2, and the last part near the hut has some snow. Please read the blog to understand the requirements for sac scale T2. Due to snow, the route will feel more exhausting. 

We will have lunch at Fiderepasshütte, however please bring enough food/drink to avoid starvation/dehydration before reaching there (or if you want to avoid having lunch at the hut).

Things to bring:

• Waterproof hiking boots
• Cash for the ticket and (possibly) for the food at the hut
• Food/drinks for the way
• Warm clothes
• Gaiters (required)
• Spikes (highly recommended)
• Headlight (just in case)
• Some tolerance for cloudy and rainy weather

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when it is starting in less than 12 hours.
