Dear hiking buddies.

Last year we went to the fireworks event at the Rheinfall in Schaffhausen.

It was absolutely awesome and i would like to repeat it.

This time with a different hike before the fireworks and a barbeque.

Time Frame:

13:30 meet and start

around 16:30 barbeque and picnic at "Grillstelle Eschheimertal"

18:00-21:00 walk back

fireworks starts at 21:45, so we got plenty of time to find a good spot

BBQ at the rhine would be nice for sure, but last year it was so crowded with people that i dont see we can do it there

Meeting point:

station Neuhausen SBB  ( https://goo.gl/maps/ZYounQZLa2fm3ae58 )

Hike:

We start in Neuhausen at the SBB station, walk a bit at the Rhine with a good view on the Rheinfall while it is not that crowded, then we go up into the forest, along the Vitaparcours (yes, time for some training :D  ).

After about 2 hours there is a watchtower "Beringer Randenturm" and after about 3 hours we will arrive at the BBQ spot.

From there it will be about 3 hours back to Schaffhausen, where we can see the fireworks event in the evening.

Picnic/BBQ:

There is no garantie that the BBQ spot will be free but i will have a backup plan for that.

First of all there is another BBQ place, also we are not too close to Schaffhausen, where there will be lots of people on that day.

And even if both are occupied, i will have some BBQ grills in my car, which i would need to get then.

So in worst case we eat an hour later.

!!Please bring your own food and drinks!!

On the way back there are some gas stations where we could buy drinks for the evening.

Equipment:

No specific equipment needed, apart from hiking boots.

Application:

As always there is the possibility to come by car.

Join the car pool and either create a car yourself or have a look who can take you there.

For those who come by public transport please create a "car" in the carpool with around 30 seats and use "public transport" as a description. That way others can join that one and we keep a good overview.

If that one is full, create another one with 30 seats please.

No maximum number of participants.

A short question - am I right to assume the hike is actually on August 1, not July 31? 🙂
