Medium pace

Go through the route and read the route description.

Transportaion:

Train leaves towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen at 7:32.

We take a bus from Oberau to Hotel Ammerwald. The bus may cost a few euros in the Austrian section.

One of the less frequently visited mountains in Ammergau Alps. The part on the ridge and around the main summit (Kreuzkopf) is T3 with a  few level I scrambling sections.

On the way back, we will visit the Marienbrücke with beautiful view of Neuschwanstein castle.

Things to bring:

  • Your train ticket
  • Some cash for the hut/bus
  • Hiking boots/trail runners
  • Food/drinks for the whole day
  • Rain jacket (just in case)
  • Good mood


Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when it is starting in less than 12 hours.

Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide. Everybody is responsible for her/himself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download a map and bring a cell phone and first aid kit for emergencies.

Due to the time constrains of public transport for the way back, I updated the gpx to reduce the distance and elevation gain of the hike. We will start from the southside of Kreuzkopf.

I missed my first train to Munich Hbf, and my current train is running late. If in case I miss 7:32 train to garmish, I will go for a solo hike or will join some other group.
