Hello,
The purpose of this event is to gather a group interested in some high altitude trekking for the weekend of 15/16 July.
Once and if people are interested, we can arrange accommodation. Transport will be with my car.
Draft plan wold be as follows:
- leave Munich Friday around 16h (around 3:30h drive)
- accommodation until Solda (Italy) for ca. 50e person / night.
- Saturday: Vertainspitze 3.545m
- Sunday: Hoher Angelus 3.521m
- return to Munich and arrive ca. 19h
Both peaks are high altitude, exigent and long treks. There are glaciers that can be avoided, but there may be snow.
More information can be found here for Vertainspitze: https://www.outdooractive.com/mobile/de/route/bergtour/ortler-gruppe/vertainspitze-3545m-ueber-rosimtal/103220859/
Solda is a wonderful village at the end of a very deep valley, with nice views over Ortler on the other side of the valley and next to Passo dello Stelvio.
PLEASE NOTE:
1. This is not a beginners hike. There will be snow, glaciers and small portions of easy climbing.
2. Equipment required and also knowledge on how to use it.
3. Hiking sections preferably to be done "quickly" (i.e. 500m/h)
Going to the mountains, like any other adventure, is always risky; sometimes it might be life-threatening!
Attendees are advised to read the full description, look into the route details and familiarize themselves to the point that they are going to hike on their own.
If there is any unwanted and unfortunate incident happens, they are at this moment informed that they have to pay by themselves if the rescue team needs to be called (average cost 3,000 Euro). I am not a mountain guide, so it is not a guided tour. Each one is responsible of him/herself. The organizer is only responsible for taking care of the meeting point arrangement and sharing the travel cost, nothing else.
