Dear 'Hiking Buddies' in Switzerland!

For the next weekend I would like to propose a hiking tour from Emmetten to Niederbauen Chulm and return to Sagendorf. The location and main part is part of the "26 Summits" challenge this year: https://26summits.ch/gipfel-und-touren/nw-niederbauen-chulm/) This is a challenging tour with steep paths! But there is the option to take cable car up and down to reduce distance to 5.6 km and elevation gain to ~ 750 m! Please still make sure that you have the right constitution and equipment!

- Feel free to join. And comment, if you have any questions.

Start/Meeting point: Bus stop 'Emmetten, Post', 8:55 o'clock

Meeting point (optional): Train station 'Stans', 8:24 o'clock (at the bus 311 to Seelisberg)

Routeing: ~ 12.9 km, upwards 1'319 m, downwards 1'354 m, max. steepness ~ 43 %

Pace and duration: Moderate to slow, depending on the group. (Better we stay together. But fast runners can go ahead on their own risk.) Estimated time, without sightseeing stops or breaks is 7-8 hours. So probably 10 hours in total with moderate pace.

FinishSagendorf at ~ 19 o'clock

Highlights: Scenic views/viewpoints, forests, meadows, cows, wild animals (if possible to see), interesting steep mountain paths, swimming(?)

Good to know

Transportation: By SBB train (and then bus), arriving at 8:55 o'clock. - Please check your best personal connection and pricing via SBB Mobile App or  https://www.sbb.ch/de.

- Feel free to offer/open a car pool here if someone arrives by car.

Equipment, mandatory: Hiking shoes (medium or heavy), sportive/comfortable clothing, backpack, water bottles (min. 2 l), sun protection and sun cream

Equipment, recommended: Hiking poles, lightweight rain jacket, snacks/food for the day, insect repellent, swimming clothes and towel

Breaks and stops: One major picnic break at the summit (ca. 1/2 of the track), short stops at highlights and for drinking -  whenever needed, at least once per hour.

Disclaimer: Everybody is responsible for his own safety and proper equipment! So please check prior that you have the right fitness and equipment for this tour!

I am not a professional tour guide, only a hiker with experience in organising and leading tours. Hence I will send people home, if I find their appearance, behaviour and/or equipment unsafe.
