Description

Sunny weather on Saturday, too hard to turn down the opportunity to see probably the most beautiful lake in Switzerland. The snow has already melted at 2000m, let's go to the amazing Berner Oberland.

The extraordinary views of the lake, the opportunity to try to ride the Rodelbahn (rollercoaster) in the nature are the big reasons for an unforgettable 1-day hike.

This is only for people who have already done  around 1000m+ height difference hikes before.

Carpool or train: We will leave by car from Zurich HB at around 6:40 AM. The ride will be ca. 2h till Kandersteg. We park there at Gondelbahn Oeschinensee Parkplatz, 3718 Kandersteg.

Train itinerary from Zurich HB:

  • 6:32 from Zurich HB from Platform 32 IC1 Direction Genève-Aéroport
  • 7:28 arrival in Bern and change to
  • 7:39 Platform 9 RE Direction Brig
  • 8:39 arrival to Kandersteg
  • 15mins walk to Gondelbahn Oeschinensee Parkplatz, 3718 Kandersteg
  • 9:00 start of the hike

Technical difficulty: The hike has difficulty T3. Please read the blog to understand the requirements for sac scale T3.  I expect you are fit and have already done 1000m+ height difference hikes before.

Things to bring:

Waterproof hiking boots

Cash for the car ride/train

Food/drinks for the way, possibility to eat in a hut/restaurant

Warm clothes

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when it is starting in less than 24 hours.
