This month public transport is free in the Salzburg region, let's support the Austrian eco initiative!
The route goes up to Aschelkopf and passes a starting point of the Ice Caves (we are not going in the caves though, as it's paid and it would make sense to do it with a shuttle bus). It also passes through a Panoramaweg with tunnels and passages build on a side of the mountain (check the photos here, looks impressive https://www.komoot.com/tour/1178091026 ). And the cherry on the cake is the view to Hohenwerfen Castle in Werfen - One of the most beautiful middle age castles in Austria.
Transport I suggest we take an s-bahn S3 to Tenneck at 9:11 AM (leaving Salzburg Hbf at 8:21)
