Description

A beautiful hike in the Allgäu, but note that the day will be demanding and I only recommend experienced hikers to join. We will go to Seealpsee, then down to the Oytalhaus where we can stop for a drink, and then we will try to get mountain scooters for a fun ride down to Oberstdorf.

Approximate schedule:

  • 7:20 - Board the train RE76
  • 9:50 - Start hiking
  • 14:30 - Reach Seealpsee
  • 15:30 - Reach the Oytalhaus
  • 17: Oberstdorf
  • 20: Munich

Please note that:

  • Some light rain is expected, even though the weather should improve throughout the day.
  • We need to be at the Oytalhaus before 17 to get scooters. Make sure you can follow that pace.
  • It's 2h30 of train each way. You have to be ok with long commuting times.
Good to know

Bring:

  • Appropriate clothes for the rain and cold.
  • Optional: a swimming suit
  • Enough food and water
  • The usual summer hiking gear
  • Your own train ticket (e.g Deutschlandticket)
  • 9€ for the scooters (Bergroller)
