Description

Grünkopf (1,588 m) is a small peak that can be easily reached from Mittenwald. It offers great views of Karwendel.

Ascent: The hike starts from Mittenwald to Leutaschklamm (no entrance fee to the Klamm). In addition, you can get to the waterfall (3 EUR entrance fee per person). From the Klamm follow the easy signed post to Grünkopf. The trail goes through the border. There are no technical difficulties but you should be fit to do 750m elevation gain without problem.

Descent: You can continue on the ridge by following the path to Ferchensee, where you can also take a dip in the lake. From there an easy road to Mittenwald.

It would be a moderate/easy hike and the plan goes like this:


>> We meet and Buy ticket* MUC Hbf 7.55

>> A bit of Meet and Greet :)

>> Reaching Hiking Starting Point:  10.30 

>> Starting Hike:~10.45

>> 1 or 2 small breaks If needed Before 30min Luncch break 

Total Hike Duration ::: ~5 hours

>> Ending of Hike: ~ 16.00 and We will Spend 1hr nearby the lake and people can take a dip if they want

We will be back in Munich by 19.30


 

 *But unfortunately, if you are too late you need to manage the route by yourself so kindly be punctual!


Things to Bring: -


  • A Happy Face :)
  • 49Euro Deutschlandticket 
  • Hiking shoes (waterproof or snowshoes)
  • Trekking/hiking poles.
  • Crampons and Gaiters 
  • Gloves and Warm cloths
  • Food and water (2-3 litres) as Not sure about Huts 
  • Downloaded GPX map
  • Cash/Paypal for the ticket

Optional:

  • Headlamp.
  • Rain jacket.
  • Sunglasses/protection glasses(transparent).

We will move with a leisurely pace of 300-350hm

I checked the connection and apparently due to construction one needs to change 3 times on the way to Mittenwald (train-bus-train-bus) and it takes 2.5 hours - just FYI, I'll wait till they (hopefully) finish construction and there are fewer changes 😊
