Along the way, you'll encounter the Weilheimer Hütte, a welcoming alpine hut nestled in a picturesque spot just before the summit. This rustic refuge offers hikers a chance to rest, refuel, and connect with fellow adventurers. From the hut, the awe-inspiring vistas of the surrounding peaks and valleys serve as a reminder of the raw beauty that awaits atop Krottenkopf.

Good to know

Train leaves from the Munich hbf at 7:32 (from platform 29; platform may change though). We will get down at Oberau. Return is also from Oberau.


Remember to bring with you:

  • Enough water for the whole day.
  • Snacks. We will most likely stop at the hut.
  • Proper hiking shoes.
  • Hiking sticks
  • Deutschlandticket (else you would need to manage the ticket with similar participants)
  • Rain jacket.
  • Bad mood to recover from :)
