This is a speed-hike event, meaning hiking up with demanding pace, jogging down.
Please read carefully the full description:
I want to do this extremely demanding route in 1 day.
No planned hut stops, only for filling up depleted fluid bottles.
Some photo stops along the way.
Expected altitude gain from other hikes (granted, without Klettersteig on those):
Up: 500-600 m eg/hr.
Down: 800-1000 m el/hr.
Flat: ~ 5:30-6:30 min/km.
Rough estimate for total duration of the hiking part is ~ 4:00 hrs up, 0:45 hr Zugspitz-Gipfel traffic jam, 2:30 hr down, 1:30 hr for the way back to Eibsee via Ehrwalder Zugspitzbahn Talstation (~ 10 k / +450 m eg), so around 9:30 hr total including breaks. (This might be a bit optimistic, I have never done this specific route, but similar.)
Afterwards I plan to do a swim in Eibsee. Planned duration for the swim is somewhere between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on time of day and other conditions. Going for a swim is optional, of course. If you go, it is at your own risk.
For dinner I plan to do a de-tour via Füssen, where I want to visit a specific Greek restaurant, so don't expect to be home early, if you join my car. Expected dinner time, if the above planned schedule holds, would be around 18:30.
