Description
Not beginner friendly,  Alpine Hiking experience needed

This hike is subject to change if the weather is not good

Hikers,

I'm excited to say that I'll be going on another hike this Sunday. It would be great to have some awesome hikers join me. However, I kindly request that only those who are genuinely committed and physically capable of keeping up with the group's pace participate.

Flexibility is essential, and a good sense of humor is always appreciated. Please remember to bring necessary equipment you think you'll need.

Via ferreta set and helmet are must have

I want to clarify that I am not a mountain guide, so please assume responsibility for your own presence and safety.

Lastly, I will create a WhatsApp group on Friday to facilitate better communication. It would be wonderful if you could join the group for updates and coordination.

This time, I won't be arranging group tickets, as I assume most people already have the 49 Euro ticket. If you require a group ticket, you can team up with others in the WhatsApp group to organize it.

Looking forward to an amazing hike!

Best regards,
Amir
Good to know

The Tegelberg via ferrata near Füssen in the Allgäu region offers a very enjoyable climbing experience when it's dry. However, it becomes more challenging and should be considered as difficult (rated D) in wet conditions. This is due, in part, to the slippery and muddy sections, which can make it harder to maintain a good grip on the rock.

The approach to the Tegelberg via ferrata takes about 45 minutes and starts from the parking lot at the base station of the Tegelberg cable car in Schwangau. From there, it takes an additional 30-45 minutes to reach the Gelbe Wand via ferrata and another 30 minutes to reach the start of the Tegelberg via ferrata. The total ascent from the starting point to the Tegelberghaus is 900 meters.

The Tegelberg via ferrata is a moderate-level route that follows the eastern and northern walls through the rock pinnacles that separate the Gelbe Wand from the ski slope. The entry point or junction is easily recognizable during the ascent to the Gelbe Wand via ferrata due to the prominent entry ladder. The route includes vertical rock walls, slabs, chimneys, and rock ledges, with the highlight being the prominent rock pinnacle known as "Gelbewandschrofen." It is important to note that the Tegelberg via ferrata is a one-way route.

Key data for the Tegelberg via ferrata in Schwangau:

- Difficulty level: C

- Wall height: 500 meters

- Via ferrata length: 1000 meters

- Time required for completion: 1.5 hours

Tip! The Tegelberg via ferrata can be easily combined with the more challenging Fingersteig. After completing the via ferrata, instead of descending to the right over the Gelbe Wand, continue hiking towards the Tegelberghaus while staying to the left. Once you reach the ski slope descending from the Tegelberg on the right side, follow the yellow signs (Fingersteig, Rohrkopfhütte) and descend on the left side of the ski slope until a discreet sign appears pointing towards the Fingersteig on the left side.

Another worthwhile option is to hike from the Tegelberghaus to the Branderschrofen. From there, you can enjoy fantastic views of the Säuling or the Zugspitze. However, keep in mind that during peak season, you'll share the summit with many other hikers. Nonetheless, it's definitely worth it!

For the descent from the Tegelberg via ferrata, there are four options:

1. Take the Gelbe Wand via ferrata route, which takes approximately 1.5-2 hours to return to the base station.

2. Hike towards the Tegelberghaus and descend back to the valley using the Tegelberg cable car.

3. Descend to the Rohrkopfhütte via the ski slope or the Schutzengelweg (Guardian Angel Path) and then continue down to the valley. The Rohrkopfhütte is known for its delicious food and friendly people.

4. Take the ridge path towards the Marienbrücke (Mary's Bridge) to Neuschwanstein Castle and return to the Tegelberg parking lot from there.

IMPORTANT: The Tegelberg via ferrata is closed for nature conservation purposes from early November to early May.

Hi Amir, Are you planning to move it to another day? Weather doesn’t look very promising tomorrow .
