Route 3 Alpine Panorama Trail
The Alpine Panorama Trail from Bodensee to Lac Léman promises many views of Alpine peaks as well as of the Mittelland and Jura. The route leads through the traditional agricultural landscape of the Alpine foothills, still dominated by milk and cheese production.

Notes:
I have merged Stage 9 with a bit of Stage 10
Stage 9 is very short - only 13 km and would take half a day.
Stage 10 is very long - circa 30km… so we will start stage 10

We will have lunch in Zug - by the lake (first opportunity to swim 🏊🏻‍♂️)
After lunch, those who want can continue 10km along the lake until we reach Buonas

There is a nice badi - so bring your swimming stuff if you want to swim there 🩳👙

Transportation


THIS HIKE IS NOT A LOOP - WE ARE ARRIVING BY TRAIN - HIKING TOGETHER - GOING BACK BY TRAIN FROM ANOTHER PLACE.

Laurence and I will be going by train from Berikon-Widen and join the party in Zug. Otherwise I have indicated how to come by train from Zurich HB.

You make (and pay) your own travel arrangements.

Pace
This is a slow pace hike. (Slow Pace means 300/350m vertical ascent per hour ; 1km length in 30min)

Food
Please take your own food (or you can buy some in Zug):
- Warm/cold drinks in isotherm bottles.
- Snacks for the road.
- Packed lunch for lunch-break.

Activities

We will arrive in Zug around lunch time and have lunch there, you can stop there and spend the afternoon at the lake, or you can walk 10km along the lake shore towards Buonas - there is plenty of opportunities to take a swim, so take your swimming gear 🩳👙

Cancellations
Up to 12 hours before the event (before 9pm Friday), you can unregister on hiking buddies website.

In case you change your mind in the 12 hours before the start of the event (after 9pm Friday), please let me know by WhatsApp/text message (+41 78 647 8829), so I won’t mark you as “no-show”. No-show means you will be restricted to participate in future hikes.

Safety notices



YOU MUST HAVE proper hiking boots with a good grip, headlamp, warm clothes, rain protection / sun screen, at least 1,5L of water, and food for snacks along the way.

Please note: I am not a professional guide. Everybody is responsible for him/herself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download the route (it can be found on this page) and bring a mobile phone and first aid kit for emergencies.
