Description

Hi guys,

I reserved 3 spots for Friday, 11.08 in Nürnberger Hütte.

The plan is to leave Munich around 11.30 (if we go by train / bus, train leaves at 11:32) or a bit later if we go by car -> driver welcome.

Day 1: hike form Parking/Bus stop up to Nürnberger Hütte, about 900m (I'm counting with max 2h hike, pace 450Hm/h)

Day 2: Wilder Freiger, about 1000Hm up, along the ridge, not on the glacier and hike down to Nürnberger Hütte and Parking/Bus, about 1900Hm down. I'm staying few more days in that area and will go down with you only to Nürnberger Hütte, not going back to Munich.

This is a Hochtour (without glacier crossing) - so it is not beginner friendly. Please join only if you have already enough experience. We don't need a rope and harness (no crevasses danger anymore), but you should take helmet (rockfall possible!), crampons - steigeisen, poles, and optional - iceaxe.

You can unjoin event at latest 5 days in advance otherwise you will pay 10 Euro to the hut.

If we've never hiked together before, please text me before joining the hike: 01796849802.

Good to know

Going to the mountains, like any other adventure, is always risky; sometimes it might be life-threatening!

Attendees are advised to read the full description, look into the route details and familiarize themselves to the point that they are going to hike on their own.

If there is any unwanted and unfortunate incident happens, they are at this moment informed that they have to pay by themselves if the rescue team needs to be called (average cost 3,000 Euro). I am not a mountain guide, so it is not a guided tour. Each one is responsible of him/herself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download a map and bring a cell phone. The organizer is only responsible for taking care of the meeting point arrangement and sharing the travel cost, nothing else.

Comments
Hi, I did this tour 2 weekends ago and did not find a helmet, crampons, poles or ice axe necessary. But that comes down to personal experience and one's own ability and surefootedness. Some gloves perhaps recommended for some of the steel cables I would still recommend.
