the ascent via the Binsalm is certainly the more rewarding one, because it goes very leisurely and not too steeply up to the western Lamsenjoch. From there, the Lamsenjochhütte (1953m) is already in sight, which is reached in another 30 minutes almost level hiking. From the Lamsenjochhütte you can already see the course of the via ferrata through the Brudertunnel and in about 20 minutes you are already at the entrance of the via ferrata.
Description of the Brudertunnel - via ferrata Lamsenspitze
The via ferrata follows in a large zig-zag course of the natural lead and never difficult over about 125 m up to the passage of the Brudertunnel. By the way, the tunnel does not require a flashlight, as it is a very large passage hole. The exit from the Brudertunnel is virtually the key point of the entire via ferrata - a good 10Hm are steep and exposed to overcome here. At the exit, a great view down into the Inn Valley and across to the snow-covered peaks of the Zillertal Alps opens up - which had been denied until then.
The further normal route leads over large scree fields to another steep step below the Lamsenspitze, which leads well secured - to the right of a very rockfall-prone gully - up to the summit plateau. From there you reach the summit of the Lamsenspitze (2508m) in about 20 minutes without difficulty. From there you have a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
