Let's enjoy this beautiful ridge in the Ammergauer Alpen as a trail run (pictures here).
Plan
We take the train from München Hbf at 5:32 to Oberau. From there we can take bus 9606 (richtung: Echelsbacher Brücke, Rottenbuch) to Ettal where our run starts. Alternatively, we could also run to Ettal which is about 4-5km. If we take the bus we start at 7:26 from Ettal. It is roughly 24km so I expect something like 3-4 hours with breaks. The plan would be to take the train at 11:11 or 12:11 from Farchant so we are back in Munich at around 12:30 or 13:30 respectively.
Requirements
You should be able to keep a pace of at least 5min/km on a flat for distances upwards of 10km.
Things to bring
* Trail running shoes
* running backpack/beltpack
* at least 1,5 litres of water, some trail food, light waterproof jacket
