+++ Please read the ENTIRE event's description carefully:

- There will be an online meeting on 30.01.2024 at 19:00 to discuss the details of the trip. Link will be shared on the whatsapp group 1 week in advance.

+++ This is only a tentative itinerary for the trip:

- Thu/Fri, 28.03-29.03.24, arriving in Marrakesh + exploring the old city.

- Sat, 30.03.24, morning heading to Imlil, the starting point the trek. Gear rental and meeting our guide. Start the hike to the Refuge de Toubkal 3200m ( ca. 10.5km with ~ 1400hm elevation gain)

- Sun, 31.03.24, summit push and back to the refuge (ca. 4 km with ~ 950hm elevation gain)

- Mon, 01.04.24, descent from refuge to Imlil

- Tue, 02.04.24, reserve day/another chill hike around Imlil

- Wed, 03.04.24, free time to explore and enjoy Marrakesh

- Thu, 04.04.24, free time to explore and enjoy Marrakesh/ flight back

+++ Things to keep in mind:

- IMPORTANT: March/April will coincide with the month of Ramadan, when muslims practice fasting from sunrise to sunset, consequently there might be changes in opening times of some attractions/restaurants. More info on what to expect when visiting Morocco during Ramadan here:


- estimated cost for the guide and trek: 150-200€ 

- while the hike is not necessarily technical, it's still a high altitude one, crossing 4000m.

- conditions near the summit are very likely to be still snowy/icy, so winter gear (& being comfortable to use it) might be necessary. It's possible to rent the gear at the spot.

Update 2: new fixed dates! Trip is now taking place over Easter holidays :)

More details will follow.


Update 1: due to the recent earthquake that hit Morocco, and the damage that the locals in the Atlas area are struggling with right now. I decided to postpone the trip to possibly Spring next year, or until the situation is clearer.

If you have the chance, please don't forget to donate to aid and rescue organizations.

hi Amina, just for your information an earthquake was hit true but all tourism is still going as normal, I was there 2 days back and lot of people doing toubkal.
