Description
As a
via-ferrata-beginner I would like to do the Alpspitz Via ferrata. We will take
the cable car until the start of the via ferrata.

Good to know
What to
bring for the hike:
-hiking shoes (no sneakers)
-money for
the cable car (33 Euro)
-warm
clothing incl. rain protection
-sun screen
-49 euro
ticket
-food and
water for the day (we can also stop at the hut)
-
climbing
harness, a via-ferrata set, a helmet, and climbing gloves (more experienced hikers
might not need certain parts of the gear, but you need to decide for yourself). A Via Ferrata Helmet is mandatory!
Disclaimer:
Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide.
Everybody is responsible for themselves. Please make yourself familiar with the
route and its requirements and only join if you think you are fit enough for
the hike. Additionally, please download the map, bring a cell phone and a first
aid kit.
If there is any unwanted and unfortunate incident
happened, they are at this moment informed that they have to pay by themselves
if the rescue team needs to be called (average cost 3,000 Euro). We are
certainly not official guides, so it is not a guided tour.

Dear all,
The weather for Sunday looks promising with max temp of 14°C. We have a waiting list, so if you do not intend to come to the via ferrata event make sure you unjoin the event in advance to give others the possibility to participate. For via ferrata beginners I highly recommend having the complete equipment as described above. Regardless of your experience proper hiking shoes (no sneakers) and a via ferrata helmet are mandatory.

is this the planned route? http://www.real-adventure.eu/Topos/Alpspitz-Ferrata_Topo_kl.pdf .If so, regardless of having food in the hütte would be highly recomended to bring some food to eat at the peak, the ferrata part is Max 3 hours but the way back from the peak to the Hütte it’s not that short and a bit exposed so it’s important to have good energy also for the way back.
